20 out Kathmandu Thamel
From Connaught Place to the park region and Lodhi Avenue, we can consider it as the youngest city among the various Delhis that were built many centuries ago. Built by the English in 1911, the number of trees, street planning and architectural style clearly stand out. As it is the region where we usually stay, tours in this region can be combined with tours at the beginning of the day in the northernmost regions of the city, such as Old Delhi, and tours further south of the city, such as the Lotus Temple:
Main visits

Kartavya Path (Rajpath) It's New Delhi's esplanade. We usually pass by it more than once between our visits to the city;

India Gate It is perhaps the most characteristic monument in the city. With tributes to the Indians who died in the two world wars. Sometimes we just slowly pass by for a photo every time we cross that part of the city. If you have more time, perhaps it would be worth parking next door and then walking to the portal;

Gandhi Smriti It is the house where Gandhi lived his last days. It was offered by a very rich family and Gandhi accepted, in contrast to living more simply as his philosophy, to be closer to political leaders and thus be able to better articulate his movement. We suggest first going to the garden at the back of the house. Summer where Gandhi was assassinated and the place where he went to pray every end of the day. On the way back from the garden to the house, there is a good exhibition on Gandhi's life on panels along the way. Enter from the side of the house to see Gandhi's room. These are the most important points of the visit. At the end of the ground floor there is a presentation about important moments in Gandhi's life through small dolls. On the floor above there is a multimedia exhibition with an incredible statue of Gandhi. We suggest seeing other rooms more quickly. Google Maps: here

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib it is a very beautiful Sikhi temple. If you want, you can take (from your travel kit in India) a scarf to cover your head or use the ones available for visitors. You must leave shoes and socks in the shoe locker or room for foreigners. It's worth visiting the kitchen where they voluntarily cook for thousands of people from all social classes and spiritual traditions every day;

Humayun Tomb It is an earlier version of the Taj Mahal. Very beautiful, built mainly in red sandstone with details in white marble, the second of the 6 main Mughal emperors, Humayun. Google Maps: here

With more time in the city

Lakshmi Narayan Temple, also known as Birla Temple because it was built by the family of that name (not to be confused with Birla House, another name for the Gandhi Smriti museum), It is quite beautiful and a good time to present a temple and Hinduism. But if you travel further around India, there will certainly be many other temples that are equally or more interesting, so the visit is only worth it if you have time to see other more important monuments first. We will always talk about our suggestions, of course.
Dinner Man
tar of Delhi, observatory built by the Maharaja of Jaipur, is quite interesting but not one of the main monuments in Delhi. Only if you have plenty of time and if you are not going to visit the one in Jaipur;
Akshardam Temple It is one of these temples further away, also suggested as one of the many possibilities for those who have a lot of time in Delhi or a few free hours, looking for something to visit. New, quite beautiful, with two activities inside that a lot of people don't like because, yes we agree, they look a bit like Disney rides, on a boat, like Wonder World, but, by relaxing a little you can have an illustration and presentation until interesting about the history of religion in India. As for the film, we don't recommend it very much. Google Maps: here
Agrasen Ki Baoli It's a quick tour, very simple and at the same time interesting and beautiful. It is a beautiful well built in the 14th century by one of the sultans of Delhi, Tughlaq or Lodi. Tughlaq or Lodi Google Maps: here
paharganj It is the neighborhood where the backpacker hotels are located. Also where many travellers buy in bulk to send Indian products to their countries. If for one of these reasons you want to stop by, a walk through Paharganj's Main Bazaar is a possibility. I really like going to the Ramakrishna Ashram temple there at the end of the day. Hence sitting in the temple at the time of their arrti ceremony. In this ashram there are teachings of Hindu philosophy, from the perspective of the great masters Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda, normally weekly. Time for aarti and days with teachings (in English) to be confirmed. Google Maps: here
Lodi Garden It is located close to good cultural centers and Kham Market. Very pleasant to take a walk and see how the local population enjoys the city, whether during the day, at the end of the day or even at the beginning of the night. Google Maps: here
Crafts Museum It is a very interesting museum focusing on manual arts. In addition to the museum, which is very beautiful (not very different from what we see in the National Museum too), there are some models of village houses from different regions of India, there are artisans exhibiting and selling their work and a restaurant with different options for Indian food in a pleasant atmosphere. very pleasant. More forts, tombs and parks: There are several other possibilities that, if interested, we can always talk about. Please let us know!
