** Land Part
The travel program includes:
Accompaniment in person of Cecilia Muzetti during the trip, as described in the detailed itinerary: during visits, car, train and plane trips in India. Cecilia will also accompany those traveling on the same flights from Guarulhos to Delhi (details in the travel program: here). At the end of the trip in Delhi, Cecília will continue on to India.
Arrivals and Departures are carried out with full assistance from our local partners. Upon international arrival in Delhi, our local partner maintains telephone contact with the travel specialist or with Guilherme Samel, director of Chörten, who in this way accompany with all due care your arrival to the hotel. If you prefer or need to arrive or depart on flights other than the group flights (listed in the travel program), we organize an assisted transfer with our local partners, also with all due care and online monitoring by Chörten, as a extra service with value according to the number of people;
Visits as mentioned in the travel program with the tickets included. If there is any special opportunity for an extra activity that is consistent with the theme of the trip, the travel specialist may suggest changing the order of the visits, or, more rarely, exchanging a visit for this activity. The trip for 2 or more travellers has been designed in a special way to ensure a very good, viable value. Some services have been designed differently for this number of travellers, as explained below: here;
Land transport in the group's own vehicles with extra care such as the number of seats used, no need to use seats when they do not recline, and slightly larger luggage space than is often offered in these countries. The driver and vehicle's day is usually 8 hours. Except on days when the program naturally starts earlier and/or ends later, such as days with sunrise and sunset. The trip for 2 or more travellers has been designed in a special way to ensure a very good, viable value. Some services have been designed differently for this number of travellers, as explained below: here;
Accommodation in double rooms in the hotels mentioned on the accommodation page. In general, check-ins are at 14 pm and check-outs are at 12 pm. If you require an earlier check-in on your arrival in Delhi or a later check-out on your departure from Delhi, please let us know so that we can check the rates and make the reservations as you wish.
Meals: Breakfasts are included in the hotel rates for all trips. At the ashram in Rishikesh, all 3 meals are included;
**Group values and sizes: the trip has already been confirmed with the first 2 people in the group with the land part for the price of US$ 4348 per person. The land part for a group of 4 people will cost US$ 3850 per person;
**Single room supplement in case of your preference or need if there is not a partner for accommodation in a double room;
The trip program does not include:
– Meals and drinks except breakfast. On average, we can consider that with US$35 per day we can eat very well in these countries, depending on what, where and how much we eat. In big cities, like Delhi, the amount can be a little higher and in small cities much lower. It is usually less, as we have already discussed or will explain in the briefing;
– Transportation where not mentioned in the program, for example for dinner outside the hotel. Taxis and Uber for short and medium trips usually cost between US$2 and US$7. If you prefer to keep the driver and vehicle until later, we can confirm the price. However, it is usually a little higher than Uber, for example;
– Tips (very important in these cultures): around US$8 to US$12 per day, explained better in the trip briefing;
– Voluntary contributions to monasteries, temples and Dharma teachers that we can find while traveling;
– Visa for India (paid in Brazil: electronic approx. US$ 25 or printed approx. R$ 520 more here);
– Travel insurance: very important and therefore highly recommended. More information: here;
– Entrance fees to monuments for cameras and/or video cameras, if applicable (normally between US$1 and US$5, only in cases where a charge is made). This is increasingly rare;
– Changes to the program in case of political unforeseen events, flight cancellations, political conflicts, epidemics, climatic and geographical unforeseen events, new fees and taxes, etc., as well as by governments and/or local service providers in Brazil/India;

Promotional Rates, when confirmed by travellers and issues in advance, they will be transferred in full to travellers;
Maximum weight allowed for checked baggage on flights within India: 15kg. Excess weight may be charged by the airline at check-in: around US$7 to 9 per extra kg (except for some specific routes where airlines have started charging more / we will check carefully);
Values subject to change: we used to include a safety margin in the price of domestic flights. Since our economy and exchange rate are in a phase that we need to take even better care of, the published price is the price available in the last search. The sooner we confirm the flight, the better. Prices are only confirmed at the time of ticket purchase, with the possibility of change up until that moment without prior notice from the airlines;
**** International Flights
In advance: in general, the sooner we issue our tickets, the better fares and routes we find. Promotional rates are unpredictable, tend to run out very quickly and have extremely high fees for any kind of changes in the future. These, when made available, are very worthwhile if we have very certain round-trip dates, that is, the main programs and extensions that we will make;
Purchasing it: it is always prudent to wait for confirmation from the group before issuing the international air. We confirm our groups with a very small number of people;
Form of payment: the international air fare is normally paid in 5 interest-free installments by airlines on Visa and Mastercard cards;
Service Providers, Infrastructure and Local Cultures
We have a lot of experience operating travel in these regions of the world. We work with very good local partners within the possibilities of these countries. Even so, it is important to bear in mind that the quality of services and local infrastructure (hotels, transportation, food, etc.) are not the same as in Brazil, Europe and North America. Most of the time, they will surprise us very positively, for example, for their human qualities and, sometimes, even for the technical aspect of the service. But unforeseen and problems must happen. It is our job, responsibility and even pleasure, at Chörten and our partners, to foresee them and, when necessary, take care of getting around them in the best possible way. So that, in this way, the most important responsibility falls to Travellers: to enjoy the trip in the most peaceful, pleasant and profitable way possible. As part of this responsibility, we understand that we are traveling in these incredible countries and cultures, very different from ours in many aspects and that teach us so much. The better we understand these cultures, the better quality and tranquility we will enjoy our trip.

Cancellation Policies
The Ground Part and Domestic Air cancellation policies come into effect from the moment the deposit is paid, when we confirm accommodation reservations, we issue air and train tickets according to the necessary advance notice of each trip. These vary from service provider to service provider that we use on our trip (hotels, airlines, etc.). In general, cancellations up to 90 days before the start of the trip will have payments refunded almost in full, with small cancellation fees from local airlines, train tickets, hotels, local operators and banks. From 60 days before the start of the trip, cancellation rates increase gradually, varying from service provider to service provider. Still, we will certainly do our best and talk to each service provider to see what reimbursement we can get even after this date. Regarding air tickets, each airline and fare has its own cancellation policy.
The Chörten Support cancellation policy is linked to the start of the services provided: Setting up the Travel Program, Traveller Preparations, Logistics and Travel Organization and Monitoring During the Trip. For example, we will not charge for Travel Support if we do not accompany (online or in person) the trip. If the other services are already being provided, they can be used at another time without new charges (just adjustments if any) and thus there will be no refund.
Payment
The value of the land portion will be divided into monthly installments of the same value as at the time of registration, with the signal, and then monthly on the 21st of each month until October, being an amount to be calculated (according to the size of the group) that can correspond to the last or the last two installments in cash (new US$ 100 bills) at the beginning of November in Delhi. The adjustments will be made according to the confirmation of the values of the domestic airfare so that in this way we can pass on the exact values of the tickets to you Travellers.
Set Up Trip for 2 Travellers
We have set up the trip in a special way so that it is viable for 2 or more travellers. With our experience in India, Cecília and Chörten, we understand that it will be better for the first 2 travellers in the following way:
- Em Delhi We have transfers as usual, on arrival and departure. For the free afternoon, it will be much more economical (for 2 travellers) to take tuk tuks and Uber as we usually do and prefer with small groups. A relatively long ride, from the ashram to Connaught Place, the cost is approx. 2 to 3 us$ per person;
- Em Chennai in addition to the transfers we will normally have, we will also have a car with a driver for our first half day and second full day (8 hours for the vehicle and driver) in the city;
- Em Tiruvannamalai instead of sending a car from Chennai, as we are currently planning to travel by train, the city is so small that we will use tuk tuks, much more fun and very economical;
- No return from Tiruvannamalai to Chennai passing through Mahabalipuram, we will have a car and driver and normally;
- Em Varanasi In addition to transfers, we will always have a car with a driver (8 hours per day). We will also have a guide during the Aarti tour, the sunrise tour and in Sarnath;
- Em Rishikesh where we will be 'at home', we will have transfer on arrival and then, much more economical for a small group, we will use tuctucs and local taxis;
- No return to Delhi from Rishikesh, having our car and driver, as well as the transfer to the airport the next day;
- Basically only in the afternoon in Delhi, in the small Tiruvannamalai and Rishikesh we will use Uber and tuk tuk as we often do, in many situations we prefer, even when with larger groups. In transfers in Delhi, every day in Chennai and Varanasi we will have our driver and car.
