Land Arrangements
The travel program includes:
Arrivals and Departures of the group flights are made with full assistance from our local partners. Upon international arrival in Paro, our local partner maintains telephone contact with Guilherme Samel, director of Chörten, who in this way accompanies with all due care when arriving at the hotel. If you need or prefer to arrive or depart on different flights than the group flight, we will organize extra transfers with the same care, explained in more detail below;
Visits as mentioned in the travel program with the tickets included;
Local guides will accompany the group in visits to monuments and other tours in general, except in a few regions that we consider more pleasant to visit without guides (explained in detail in our conversations before the trip), as when mentioned accordingly in the travel program;
Land transport in the group's own vehicles with extra care as the number of seats used, no need to use seats when they are not reclining and luggage space a little larger than what is often offered in these countries;
Accommodation in double rooms in the hotels mentioned on the accommodation page. In general, check-ins are at 14:12 p.m. and check-outs are at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. If you require an earlier check-in upon arrival in Kathmandu or a later check-out upon departure in Paro, please let us know so we can check the prices and make the reservations as desired.
Meals: Breakfasts are included in hotel rates for the entire trip. Specifically in Bhutan, lunches and dinners are also included except bottled drinks;
Government Visas and Fees in Bhutan travel programs are included in the terrestrial part;
**Single room supplement in case of your preference or need if there is not a partner for accommodation in a double room;
The trip program does not include:
Meals and drinks except breakfast (except on days in Bhutan which include lunch and dinner as mentioned above). On average we can consider that with US$ 35 a day we can eat very well in these countries, depending on what, where and how much we eat and in small cities much less. It tends to be less like what we have already discussed or will explain in the briefing;
Transport where not mentioned in the program (short and medium taxis usually cost between $2 and 7);
International transfers if you prefer or need to arrive or depart on different flights than most of the group (which usually travel on the same flights). We will organize an assisted transfer with our local partners, also with all the care and online monitoring by Chörten, as an extra service with a value according to the number of people;
Tipping (very important in these cultures): around US$ 8 to 12 per day explained better in the trip briefing;
Voluntary contributions to monasteries, temples, and Dharma teachers that we may encounter while traveling;
Nepal Visa ($30 for up to 15 days between your first and last days in Nepal on your trip, more here);
Travel insurance: very important and therefore highly recommended. More information: here;
Entrance fees to the monuments for a camera and/or video camera, if available (normally between US$ 1 and 5 only in cases where it is charged). Increasingly rare to happen;
Changes to the program in the event of political unforeseen events, flight cancellations, political conflicts, epidemics, unforeseen climatic and geographical events, new fees and taxes, etc., as well as by governments and/or local service providers in Brazil / Nepal / Bhutan;

Service Providers, Infrastructure and Local Cultures
We have a lot of experience operating travel in these regions of the world. We work with very good local partners within the possibilities of these countries. Even so, it is important to bear in mind that the quality of services and local infrastructure (hotels, transportation, food, etc.) are not the same as in Brazil, Europe and North America. Most of the time, they will surprise us very positively, for example, for their human qualities and, sometimes, even for the technical aspect of the service. But unforeseen and problems must happen. It is our job, responsibility and even pleasure, at Chörten and our partners, to foresee them and, when necessary, take care of getting around them in the best possible way. So that, in this way, the most important responsibility falls to Travellers: to enjoy the trip in the most peaceful, pleasant and profitable way possible. As part of this responsibility, we understand that we are traveling in these incredible countries and cultures, very different from ours in many aspects and that teach us so much. The better we understand these cultures, the better quality and tranquility we will enjoy our trip.

Cancellation Policies
The Ground Part and Domestic Air cancellation policies come into effect from the moment the deposit is paid, when we confirm accommodation reservations, we issue air and train tickets according to the necessary advance notice of each trip. These vary from service provider to service provider that we use on our trip (hotels, airlines, etc.). In general, cancellations up to 90 days before the start of the trip will have payments refunded almost in full, with small cancellation fees from local airlines, train tickets, hotels, local operators and banks. From 60 days before the start of the trip, cancellation rates increase gradually, varying from service provider to service provider. Still, we will certainly do our best and talk to each service provider to see what reimbursement we can get even after this date. Regarding air tickets, each airline and fare has its own cancellation policy.
The Chörten Support cancellation policy is linked to the start of the services provided: Setting up the Travel Program, Traveller Preparations, Logistics and Travel Organization and Monitoring During the Trip. For example, we will not charge for Travel Support if we do not accompany (online or in person) the trip. If the other services are already being provided, they can be used at another time without new charges (just adjustments if any) and thus there will be no refund.
Payment
O Initial payment at the time of registration, the amount corresponding to Chörten Support will be paid into Chörten's bank account in Brazil. We use this amount to guarantee the remuneration of our local partners who work hard at this stage, much more than normal, due to the level of personalization and care with the details that we require on our trips;
A land arrangements and 'domestic' flights: can be paid into Chörten's bank account in Brazil or, in the cases explained below, directly to our local partners.
Always thinking about the best for you, Chörten Travellers, whether more economical, convenient and, of course, legal, we have suggested pay for the services of local service providers directly to them. This happens with countries with which Brazil does not have treaties for exemption from the IRRF tax charged on payment for travel programs when made by travel agencies in Brazil, such as Nepal and regions of Tibet (China). It is common for bank accounts in Brazil today to make international transfers easily. As there is the Wise card nowadays (we explain here), which our Travellers have used a lot in recent years and to date it has worked very well. We are happy to help with both possibilities, which are usually very simple, we can take care of them in just a few minutes.
In the case of India, Brazil has an agreement and you do not pay this tax. This makes it easy, convenient and economical for us to use Chörten's bank account in Brazil and, of course, you can also pay them directly. We have both possibilities. As Bhutan It happens the same way, we will explain. In the case of group installments, we also need to use Chörten's bank account to organize all payments.
50% can be paid upon confirmation place on the trip to guarantee hotel reservations and issue 'domestic' airline tickets (within and between the countries of the trip) at the best possible prices. AND 50% up to 60 days before travel.
