Pharphing
Today we will go to a village in a quieter area approximately 40 minutes south of the Kathmandu Valley, PharphingWe will visit two important caves of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Here, this great master and father of Buddhism in Tibet attained the third level of vidyadhara, called the great seal. As the Buddha himself explained, we will visit places where great masters lived and meditated. We will be able to hang Tibetan flags on a hill above Asura, with a beautiful view of the valley and surrounding mountains. We will have time to walk through the village as an invitation to a meditation practice of Buddha Shakyamuni, which we will have with us, authorized by the Rinpoche of this monastery. Those interested can do this daily in auspicious places like Pharphing, or at our hotel when it is more convenient. On the stone next to one of the caves we will visit, we will see a mark that Guru Rinpoche made with his hand.
At the end of our day we will return to the Thamel region for another good meal.

Buddha, because of his level of realization, offered his own body where there is now a monastery of Thrangu Rinpoche, in Namo Buddha. After breakfast, we will take a leisurely walk to the monastery and then to the stupa where Buddha's brothers in that life kept his relics. If you prefer, our vehicle can make this journey instead of walking for a few minutes.

Weather permitting, we will have views of the highest and snowiest mountains in the Himalayas, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

On the way to our Tibetan neighborhood in the Kathmandu Valley, we will visit the third of the valley's main ancient cities, Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion and pur: Hindu city). Bhaktapur is a listed city, with limited vehicle flow, where, for example, the film Little Buddha was filmed. Walking through its alleys is like getting to know a little about the daily life of medieval times in Nepal.
Return Kathmandu > Bhaktapur > End of day free
After our peaceful night in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley, we will continue our journey to our Tibetan neighborhood and hotel in Kathmandu. On the way, we have the option of visiting the third Durbar Square in the valley, the beautiful Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion/devotees and pur: Hindu city). The place where the film Little Buddha was filmed, for example. We will walk through its medieval streets, among temples and old houses, including the potters' square. At the end of the day, we will have free time to enjoy our Boudhnath neighborhood and return to Thamel, as each traveller prefers. Later, we will celebrate our days and experiences together in these incredible cultures and landscapes with a pleasant dinner.
Boudha Return
After checking in back at our hotel, always requested and very welcome, today will be dedicated to assimilating everything we experienced in these two special countries and cultures. Already very familiar with the Tibetan neighborhood around the great stupa of Boudhnath, as well as with several places in the city and the valley, we can enjoy revisiting some of its numerous important monasteries, cafes, restaurants, museums and 'little shops'. We can contemplate these important places, read a book, write, walk, photograph, take care of the memories if we take them for ourselves as well as for friends and family.
Return via Pashupatinath
On the way back to the city of Kathmandu, we will visit the Pashupatinath temple complex, which is located around the Bagmati River, sacred to Hindus. In addition to the main temple, dedicated to the most peaceful manifestation of Shiva, Pashupati, there are dozens of small temples also dedicated to the Hindu god of destruction and reconstruction. It is also the place where Nepalis who are able will be cremated to ensure a good passage or release (moksha). We have some options for this afternoon. We can use it to go to Thamel, if anyone still needs some more clothes or equipment for our days in Bhutan. We can also take advantage of our Tibetan neighborhood, doing our circumambulations, walking through the monasteries, doing our meditation practice, taking advantage of one of the cafes and the stupa to write, read or photograph some more. We also have the option of visiting another square in the palace, Kathmandu's Durbar Square, where a small living goddess, Kumari, lives.
Return via Changunarayan
In the morning we will visit the oldest temple in Kathmandu, called Changu Narayan. This is another opportunity to walk through the mountains and ethnic villages of Nepal. We set aside this afternoon to explore some of the places already visited, to return to Thamel if you need any more equipment or clothes for the trip to Bhutan, and to take advantage of its bookstores, Nepalese crafts stores and cafes.
Return Kathmandu > Bhutan
Back in our Tibetan neighborhood, we will prepare for our very beautiful flight to Bhutan tomorrow.
Visit Namo Buddha > Dhulikhel night
Today we will visit another quieter region of the Kathmandu Valley. First we will travel for approximately 2 hours to the mountains surrounding the valley, Namo Buddha. In a previous life, Buddha Sakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, encountered a hungry tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Buddha, because of his level of realization, offered his own body where there is now a monastery of Thrangu Rinpoche. Just below, after a pleasant walk, there is a stupa where Buddha's brothers, in that life, kept his relics. We will go down the mountain for a few minutes to our hotel in Namo Buddha or Dhulikhel. Arriving at our hotel, we will have a very peaceful end to the day with a beautiful view. If the weather is clear, we will be able to see the snow-capped Himalayan mountains at sunset and sunrise from the hotel restaurant and from our beds in our rooms.
Lhasa > Dhulikhel
In the morning, return to Lhasa airport for another incredible flight that will cross the highest mountain range in the world. In good weather, it is possible to see six of the only fourteen mountains in the world that are more than eight thousand meters high. Back in Nepal we will go to our hotel in a very quiet region of the valley, Dhulikhel, close to another important Buddhist site, Namo Buddha. In a previous life, Buddha Shakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, encountered a hungry tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Buddha, due to his level of achievement, offered his own body where there is today a Thrangu Rinpoche monastery. Just below, after a pleasant walk, there is a stupa where the Buddha's brothers, in that life, kept his relics. We will have completed the visit to the three most sacred stupas in the Kathmandu Valley and it will be an important opportunity, at the stupa itself or back at our hotel, to sit, read, write, photograph, walk or take the opportunity to do a brief meditation practice now. almost at the end of our trip. From our rooms and our hotel's restaurant, in good weather, we will have a view of the snow-capped Himalayas, the region we have been traveling through in recent weeks.

In good weather, it is possible to see six of the only fourteen mountains in the world that are over eight thousand meters high. Back in Nepal, we will head to our hotel in a very quiet part of the valley, close to another important Buddhist site, Namo Buddha. In a previous life, Buddha Sakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, encountered a hungry tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Buddha, because of his level of realization, offered his own body where there is today a Thrangu Rinpoche monastery. From the restaurant area of our hotel, if the weather is good, we will have a view of the snow-capped Himalayas, the region we have been traveling through in recent weeks.
Changunarayan
On the way we can also visit the oldest temple in the entire valley, Changunarayan. We usually go by car. If by chance someone prefers to go for a walk, we have that possibility.
Nagarkot
Arriving in Nagarkot, a village that is quieter than the cities in the valley, with the weather permitting we will have beautiful views of the snow-capped Himalaya mountains. In addition to a pleasant moment to enjoy the peace of nature, sunset and sunrise, there will be possibilities for good walks in the region.
Nagarkot with trek
Today we head to a village in the mountains surrounding the valley, Nagarkot. In this quieter region, with more nature, we can take a walk through one of the villages of one of the many ethnic groups in Nepal, to experience a little of this rhythm of life where children take care of animals, men and women weave, adults take care of houses and plantations, some houses still built with traditional materials and format, with the animals on the first floor and the house above. Weather permitting, we will have views of the highest and snowiest mountains in the Himalayas, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
We will now head to a village in the mountains (approx. 2200m) surrounding the Kathmandu Valley (average 1400m). With all the history, ethnicities and traditions in the cities in the valley, going to a quieter place is an opportunity to experience a little of the rhythm of life in most of Nepal: with its valleys, terraces and mountains. If you're feeling up to it, you can take a walk around the region, and the peaceful stay in itself, in this context in the Himalayas, with the weather allowing views of the highest mountains in the world, is in itself a very special experience.
We will now continue for approx. 1h there is another village in the mountains around the valley, Nagarkot, where we can experience a bit of the calmest Nepal of the villages in its beautiful mountains and valleys. It is also a very inviting place to do our meditation practice, individually or together, like going for a walk, as each traveller prefers. Weather permitting, we will have views of the highest and snowiest mountains in the Himalayas, with beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
Depending on our rhythm that day, we can rest, enjoy the region and visit Namo Buddha the next morning.
Lhasa > Nagarkot
Time for us to depart this sacred kingdom and return to our dear, messy Nepal. Transfer to the airport early in the morning for another beautiful flight literally alongside the Himalayas back to Kathmandu.
Instead of returning to the big city, from the airport we will first head to the third of the main ancient cities in the valley, Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion and pur: Hindu city). Bhaktapur is a listed city, with limited traffic flow. Walking through its narrow streets is like getting to know a little bit of everyday life in medieval Nepal.

The day has arrived! Going to Galeão (GIG) and Guarulhos (GRU) in night of October 20, Sunday, for a flight in the early hours of October 21st. Very good flight!
As a rule, airlines in other Brazilian cities require you to check in your checked bag all the way to your final destination, in our case, Delhi. Talking to check-in supervisors at different airlines in Guarulhos, they explained that sometimes the airline systems at different airports in Brazil can't handle check-in all the way to your final destination. Other times, the person checking you in doesn't know how to check in all the way to your final destination. So, talk to the person checking you in; if necessary, call the supervisor and see if you can arrange for your bag to be checked through to your final destination. If that's not possible, no problem. We usually arrive at T2 in Guarulhos, pick up our bag, and continue (a 15-minute walk) to T3. It was also a breeze. Have a great flight!
The day has arrived! You will probably be heading to the airport for your flight this morning, depending on your city, route and flight combination. This is a day that travellers always request. After visiting all the regions of our trip together, already being familiar with Kathmandu, a day to enjoy our Tibetan neighborhood, take a walk around the city, go somewhere we haven't been yet, return with more time to one or more places that We visited, having already met and now being able to enjoy a coffee, review a museum, buy a few things, these are possibilities that are always very welcome by our friends, fellow travellers. Count on our support, of course, and enjoy your day in Nepal!
We will see how the group wants to best enjoy the day. We have some suggestions like a walk around the valley. We will listen to how each Traveller prefers to enjoy the day so we can think about how it will be better for the group, to enjoy the whole day together or if some Travellers prefer to have our support for more independent activities.
After all the preparations have been well taken care of over the last few months, it's time to go to the airport for the flights to Nepal!
We have our hotel available until approx. noon in the morning. So, you can choose to fly back home that night, early morning or tomorrow. It's always quite comfortable to go to the airport while we still have our room available to rest, pack our bags and take a shower.
We hope you enjoyed your travel days. May you have great flights back home and come back soon!
Going to the airport could have been the night before, as explained above, this morning or today, depending on your preference. Very good flights! See you soon!
Regarding times and days, flights normally leave Guarulhos SP (GRU) early in the morning, around 1 or 2am that night. Therefore, anyone traveling to São Paulo from other states must make their domestic flight the day before. And anyone going to GRU by car must go to the airport the night before. Guilherme will certainly contact you before you go to the airport and will be available when you arrive at the airport to see if you need any help, making sure you are arriving with complete peace of mind. Have a great flight and see you soon!
If your flight is today, have a great flight!

10th 24-Jul-2017 Mon LEH PANGONG LAKE
trip to the lake
pangong lake
A very beautiful trip to this high-altitude lake. An opportunity to sleep in such a rare and special place, wouldn't you agree? Possible visits along the way: Chemrey and Taktok monasteries.
Today we will travel for a good part of the day, to an even more remote region that literally borders Tibet. Pangong Tso (tso = lake in Tibetan) is one of the high-altitude lakes of the Tibetan plateau. That region on the other side of the Himalayas where Ladakh and Tibet are. Part of the lake is in Ladakh and part in Tibet. Like some of these lakes, it's a salt lake! 60 million years ago when the plate of what is now India met Asia, the Himalayas appeared. In the mountain range we find shells, corals (today in the necklaces of the Tibetans and Ladakhis) and some of its lakes were formed with the sea water itself, now so far away. Opportunity to sleep in a place like this today is quite rare and special, yes? Let's enjoy our end of the day on the banks and with the view of Pangong Tso.
11th 25-Jul-2017 Tue PANGONG LAKE LEH
