The travel program includes:
Accompaniment in-person Brazilian experts Henrique Lemes and Guilherme Samel During the trip, as described in the detailed itinerary: during visits, car and plane trips in India and Bhutan.
Arrivals and Departures All services are provided with the full assistance of our local partners. Upon international arrival in Delhi, our local partner maintains contact by phone with the travel specialist or with Guilherme Samel, director of Chörten, who in this way... accompany with all due care your arrival to the hotel. At your hotel you will meet with your travel specialist and you will discuss the next steps. If you prefer or need to arrive or depart on different flights than the majority of the group (who usually travel on the same flights), we will organize an assisted transfer with our local partners, also with all due care and online support from Chörten, as a extra service with value according to the number of people;
extra activities, described and planned mainly in the thematic travel programs (with the accompaniment of a Brazilian specialist), are included. It is always possible and very meritorious to make some more spontaneous contribution to these teachers, if you wish;
Visits as mentioned in the travel program with the tickets includedIf there happens to be a special opportunity for an extra activity consistent with the theme of the trip, the trip specialist may suggest altering the order of the visits, or, more rarely, replacing one visit with this activity;
Local guides will accompany the group in visits Regarding monuments and other sightseeing in general, except for a few regions that the Brazilian travel experts know well and where it is more enjoyable to visit without guides (explained in detail in the briefing if you are interested), or when mentioned in the travel program;
Land transport in the group's own vehicles with extra care such as the number of seats used, no need to use seats when they do not recline, and slightly larger luggage space than is often offered in these countries. The driver and vehicle's day is usually 8 hours. Except on days when the program naturally starts earlier and/or ends later, such as days with sunrise and sunset;
Accommodation in double rooms in the hotels mentioned on the accommodation page. In general, check-ins are at 14 pm and check-outs are at 12 pm. If you require an earlier check-in on your arrival in Delhi or a later check-out on your departure from Delhi, please let us know so that we can check the rates and make the reservations as you wish.
MealsBreakfast is included in the hotel rates for all trips. Specifically in Bhutan, lunches and dinners are also included (except for bottled drinks);
Government Visas and Fees in Bhutan travel programs are included in the terrestrial part;
***Group values and sizesWe can confirm the trip for groups of 8 or more people, with a land portion costing US$3920 per person.
****Single room supplement in case of your preference or need if there is not a partner for accommodation in a double room;
The trip program does not include (Costs we need to consider for the trip):
Meals and drinks except breakfast (except for the days in Bhutan, which include lunches and dinners as mentioned above). On average, we can consider that with US$35 per day we eat very well in these countries, depending on what, where, and how much we eat. In large cities, such as Delhi, the amount may be slightly higher, and in small towns much lower. On average, it tends to be less, as we have already discussed or will explain in the briefing;
Transportation where not mentioned in the program.For example, for dining out of the hotel. Taxis and Uber for short and medium rides usually cost between US$2 and US$7. If you prefer to keep the driver and vehicle until later, we can confirm the price. But it tends to be somewhat higher than Uber, for example;
International transfers if you prefer or need to arrive or depart on different flights. For the majority of the group (who usually travel on the same flights), we will organize an assisted transfer with our local partners, also with all the care and online support from Chörten, as an extra service with a price according to the number of people.
Tips (very important in these cultures): around US$10 to 12 per day, explained better in the trip briefing;
Voluntary contributions The monasteries, temples, and Dharma teachers that we can encounter during the trip;
Visa For India (paid in Brazil: electronic approx. US$ 25 or printed approx. R$ 520);
Travel insuranceThis is very important and therefore highly recommended. Some credit cards offer travel insurance if you use the card to purchase international flights (it's worth checking with your bank).More information: here;
Entrance fees to monuments for photographic and/or video cameras. When applicable (usually between US$1 and US$5 only in cases where it is charged). Increasingly rare.
Program changes in case of unforeseen circumstances. Political factors, flight cancellations, political conflicts, epidemics, unforeseen weather and geographical events, new fees and taxes, etc., as well as those from local governments and/or service providers in Brazil / India / Bhutan;
Economic class economical;
Promotional Rates, when confirmed by travellers and issues in advance, they will be transferred in full to travellers;
Maximum weight allowed for checked baggage on flights within India: 15kg. Between India/Nepal/Bhutan/Tibet: around 20kg. Excess weight may be charged by the airline at check-in: around US$ 7 to 10 per extra kg (except for some specific routes for which airlines now charge more / we will check carefully);
Values subject to change: we used to include a safety margin in the price of domestic flights. Since our economy and exchange rate are in a phase that we need to take even better care of, the published price is the price available in the last search. The sooner we confirm the flight, the better. Prices are only confirmed at the time of ticket purchase, with the possibility of change up until that moment without prior notice from the airlines;
Best routes, connections and faresWe will always look for the best routes, connections, and fares according to each traveller's preferences. In fact, we strongly encourage you to support us in choosing flights, as we see many errors when tickets are issued by the traveller themselves or another travel agency without prior consultation. This is very common. Once the best flights are chosen, we offer free support for issuing international tickets through the airline's website (which can take 20 to 40 minutes). We can also recommend a partner company that issues international tickets, or we can speak with a travel agency you are accustomed to using. If issuing the ticket through the airline's website takes longer than the expected 20 to 40 minutes, we will agree on a fee of $40 USD for issuing the ticket.
In advance: in general, the sooner we issue our tickets, the better fares and routes we find. Promotional rates are unpredictable, tend to run out very quickly and have extremely high fees for any kind of changes in the future. These, when made available, are very worthwhile if we have very certain round-trip dates, that is, the main programs and extensions that we will make;
Purchasing it: it is always prudent to wait for confirmation from the group before issuing the international air. We confirm our groups with a very small number of people;
Form of paymentInternational airfare typically allows airlines to split the cost into 5 interest-free installments using Visa and Mastercard. Some credit cards offer travel insurance when used for international airfare purchases. It's worth checking with your card issuer.
We have a lot of experience operating travel in these regions of the world. We work with very good local partners within the possibilities of these countries. Even so, it is important to bear in mind that the quality of services and local infrastructure (hotels, transportation, food, etc.) are not the same as in Brazil, Europe and North America. Most of the time, they will surprise us very positively, for example, for their human qualities and, sometimes, even for the technical aspect of the service. But unforeseen and problems must happen. It is our job, responsibility and even pleasure, at Chörten and our partners, to foresee them and, when necessary, take care of getting around them in the best possible way. So that, in this way, the most important responsibility falls to Travellers: to enjoy the trip in the most peaceful, pleasant and profitable way possible. As part of this responsibility, we understand that we are traveling in these incredible countries and cultures, very different from ours in many aspects and that teach us so much. The better we understand these cultures, the better quality and tranquility we will enjoy our trip.
With the preparations for the trip well taken care of, with all our assistance and support, from boarding the flight here in Brazil until your return, you will see that your trip will be very smooth, well cared for, very well enjoyed, fun, with significant lessons that we will bring from come back and they will be of great value to us in our lives.
The Ground Part and Domestic Air cancellation policies come into effect from the moment the deposit is paid, when we confirm accommodation reservations, we issue air and train tickets according to the necessary advance notice of each trip. These vary from service provider to service provider that we use on our trip (hotels, airlines, etc.). In general, cancellations up to 90 days before the start of the trip will have payments refunded almost in full, with small cancellation fees from local airlines, train tickets, hotels, local operators and banks. From 60 days before the start of the trip, cancellation rates increase gradually, varying from service provider to service provider. Still, we will certainly do our best and talk to each service provider to see what reimbursement we can get even after this date. Regarding air tickets, each airline and fare has its own cancellation policy.
The cancellation policy for Chörten Support is linked to the start of the services provided: Planning the Travel Program, Traveller Preparations, Logistics and Organization of the Trip, and Assistance During the Trip.all the details above are here e on this page hereFor example, we will not charge for Travel Assistance if we do not accompany you (online or in person) on your trip. If the other services are already being provided, they can be used at another time without additional charges (only adjustments if necessary) and therefore there will be no refund.
The values will be Divided into equal monthly installments at the time of registration, with the down payment, and then monthly on the 10th of each month until February. The last one or two installments will be paid in cash (new US$100 bills) during the trip.. Adjustments will be made as domestic airfare prices are confirmed so that we can pass on the exact ticket prices to you, the Travellers.
