The day has arrived! Going to Galeão (GIG) and Guarulhos (GRU) in night of October 20, Sunday, for a flight in the early hours of October 21st. Very good flight!
As a rule, airlines in other Brazilian cities require you to check in your checked bag all the way to your final destination, in our case, Delhi. Talking to check-in supervisors at different airlines in Guarulhos, they explained that sometimes the airline systems at different airports in Brazil can't handle check-in all the way to your final destination. Other times, the person checking you in doesn't know how to check in all the way to your final destination. So, talk to the person checking you in; if necessary, call the supervisor and see if you can arrange for your bag to be checked through to your final destination. If that's not possible, no problem. We usually arrive at T2 in Guarulhos, pick up our bag, and continue (a 15-minute walk) to T3. It was also a breeze. Have a great flight!
The day has arrived! You will probably be heading to the airport for your flight this morning, depending on your city, route and flight combination. We will see together what will work best for your arrival! Guilherme will be in touch from the moment you arrive at the airport until your arrival in Delhi. Have a great flight!

This is a day that travellers always request. After visiting all the regions of our trip together, already being familiar with Kathmandu, a day to enjoy our Tibetan neighborhood, take a walk around the city, go somewhere we haven't been yet, return with more time to one or more places that We visited, having already met and now being able to enjoy a coffee, review a museum, buy a few things, these are possibilities that are always very welcome by our friends, fellow travellers. Count on our support, of course, and enjoy your day in Nepal!
We will see how the group wants to best enjoy the day. We have some suggestions like a walk around the valley. Traffic, food, hygiene, cultural issues, logistics, and safety are some of the topics we'll have discussed before the trip, and the specialist, now on-site, will review and clarify any questions so you can make the most of your trip. These are precious minutes that will greatly benefit all the coming days in this country with a vast history, ancient cultures, and a knowledge and worldview that we still don't fully understand from our Western backgrounds and perspectives.

Hiking Suggestion
Talk to your guide, our suggestion is that our first experience in India is a light walk, to the first place we will visit this first afternoon, close to our hotel.
Try to get as much rest as possible on your first night. So arrive for breakfast, for example, about 40 minutes before the café closes (we will confirm the time on the day) to meet the guide for the visits and activities.
Our suggested tours for this afternoon are: Kartavya Path (Rajpath) with India Gate, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and Lakshminarayan temple. If you're in the mood for more stuff, we have some extra possibilities in mind. Please let us know and we'll talk.
We will check the city's cultural agenda for the days in Delhi, as a possibility of a special activity, where great artists from the country perform.
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:

Lakshmi Narayan Temple
Also close to our hotel is the Hindu temple Lakshminarayan, also known as Birla (an important Indian family) Mandir (temple in Hindi). We'll see many Hindu temples during the trip, from the smallest on the sidewalks and in front of houses to the largest, as in this case. These are opportunities to learn and reflect on the knowledge, wisdom, and learning methods that have been practiced for millennia throughout the Asian subcontinent: from the Hindustan River Valley (from Mt. Kailash in Tibet to Pakistan), extending across the Gangetic Plain (from Rishikesh to Kolkata), and across the Himalayas to South India. Take the opportunity to ask your guide about your questions and curiosities about Hinduism, as well as the temple-goers, including the priests. We'll hear varied answers, with different approaches and levels of understanding of this knowledge, from the most beginner to the most accomplished, from the most popular to the most academic.
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
Also close to our hotel, a visit to the Sikh temple, a 16th-century religion from the Punjab region of India, is certainly a good option. In the beautiful Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, we will hear their chants (see the translation on the monitors inside the temple), we will observe how they say their prayers in the temple and around the sacred tank. We will also be able to visit the kitchen where volunteers provide meals for thousands of people daily, regardless of social class and religion.

We will also be able to visit the kitchen where volunteers provide meals for thousands of people every day, regardless of social class or religion.
Let's see how hungry the group is for our first meal in Delhi!
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Humayun's Mausoleum
Second of the six major Mughal emperors, Humayun (1508-1556), his mausoleum was built in Delhi. The first with architecture associated with a garden and use of red sandstone on this scale in India. Thus, it was a predecessor and similar in beauty to the Taj Mahal. There are those who consider this monument even more beautiful.
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Lodi Garden
Park
We can also take a walk around one of the parks where locals go for their walks, very beautiful, the Lodi Garden.
We can also take a walk around one of the parks where locals go for walks. A very beautiful one is Lodi Garden. Another option, since you'll be at Humayun Tomb, is the Sunder Nursery next door. Besides being very well-kept and beautiful, there's a café and restaurant inside.
A tour of one of the parks where locals go for their walks, very beautiful, with mausoleums of the various sultans of Delhi, Lodi Garden is a great option that combines history, nature and the opportunity to observe the daily lives of local residents.
We will check the city's cultural agenda for the days in Delhi, as a possibility of a special activity, where great artists from the country perform.
Flight:
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Old Delhi.
Red Fort
We will begin our tour with what is actually one of the many Delhis that existed in different eras and empires in a succession of neighboring cities. The last and eighth Delhi is where we are staying, built by the English, called New Delhi. The seventh was built by Shah Jahan, one of the great Mughal emperors, the same one who built the Taj Mahal, at the time known as Shajahanabad. Today we call it Old Delhi. or Old Delhi. We'll visit the Emperor's great mosque, the Jama Masjid. If you'd like, you can take a walk up to the minaret! From there, we'll have views of the city and the Red Fort. Talk to your guide. He doesn't need to climb the minaret and can keep your backpack (which can't be climbed onto the minaret, so it's always a good idea to have a padlock or not leave any money in it). Just be very careful on the platform up there, please.
Next, we'll stroll through the alleys of its old bazaar. There's a very old shop, passed down from father to son for a long time, selling essential oils (sandalwood, etc.) and incense, called Gulab Singh Johri Mal, which is a worthwhile visit in itself. You can buy a small box of oil along with one of the bottles typical of this Muslim region of Delhi. Following the tour through the alleys of the bazaar, most guides prefer to take a bicycle rickshaw. We highly recommend taking the walking tour, for more exposure and a better view of the bazaar. You'll also have the opportunity to visit a small, ancient Jain temple with beautiful paintings. There's more than one Jain temple in the area; this one is in the small village called Naughara Gali, in Kinari Bazaar. We then continue until we reach the Red Fort, where the important Lahori Gate is located. It was here that important speeches in the history of India took place, such as the independence of this country, today the largest democracy in the world, where ancient values and customs coexist with extremely modern knowledge and technologies.
We will save our visit to one of the Red Forts for the one in Agra, with more history, prettier and better preserved.
We will visit the Red Fort, built in red sandstone and white marble in the 200th century. XVII, also by Emperor Shah Jahan. Used by the Mughal Empire for approx. XNUMX years, we will understand how they lived, with their gardens, rooms, public and private audience halls. We will see that it was also used by the English army.
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Raj Ghat
On the way back to our hotel area, we will pay our respects at the memorial where Gandhi was cremated, the Raj Ghat. We will see what his last words were, a sign of great achievement on his spiritual path. Those who like photographs, look for images taken by Cartier-Bresson, one of the greatest photographers who ever lived, who was in Delhi that day.
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Kartavya Path (Rajpath)
Near our hotel is the esplanade built by the English in the 20th century, called Kartavya Path (until recently called Rajpath). Here you will find India Gate, a landmark of the city, built in honor of the fighters in the great war, where you can get off to take some photos. On the other side of Kartavya Path is the house of the current president of India.
Close to our hotel is the terrace built by the English in the 17th century. XX, called Kartavya Path (until recently called Rajpath). It contains the India Gate, the city's landmark, built in honor of the combatants in the Great War. We usually end up passing by it more than once during our days in Delhi. Depending on the rules on the day, what has sometimes been possible is for us to arrange with the guide and driver to get off near India Gate to take a photo, the driver goes around, then passes by again to pick us up in a few minutes or parks there. close. Another possibility is, when we pass through Kartavya Path, our driver passes slowly so that we can take photos of the car. See how you prefer, ok? On the other side of Kartavya Path is the house of the current president of India.
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Gandhi Smriti
Another special visit for our day is the last house where Gandhi lived, known as Birla House or Gandhi SmritiWe will learn a little about this important part of this nation's history, including the life and final moments of this great leader, an example of the practice of Ahimsa (non-violence) and the culture of peace that continues throughout the world today. The most important parts of the museum today are at the beginning of the visit. So, a suggestion: (1) head to the back of the house where Gandhi was assassinated on the way to the place where he said his daily prayers. Return and take a look at a presentation about Gandhi's life, with photos of his birthplace, until he became the Gandhi we know. Then enter (2) the house through Gandhi's bedroom, where his belongings are displayed. In all the places where Gandhi lived, he had a simple room with belongings like these. (3) On this same ground floor, further into the house, on the right, after a room with a projection and music that Gandhi liked, there is a corridor with black and white photographs recounting Gandhi's life. If you have time, it's interesting. These are the most important parts of the visit. I suggest you continue through the other rooms in a much more concise manner, for a few minutes, including the floor above. There are volunteers available to show you the museum, but it can take a long time. If you'd like their support, ask them to present just two or three sections of the museum, or do a 5-minute summary (which will probably end up being longer). Suggestion: spend a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes on these sections of the museum (after Gandhi's room) so you can use your day for other visits in the city.
Group with Gui
Another special visit for our day is the last house where Gandhi lived, known as Birla House or Gandhi SmritiWe will learn a little about this important part of the history of this nation, as well as about the life and final moments of this great leader, an example of the practice of Ahimsa (non-violence) and the culture of peace to this day throughout the world.
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Lotus Temple
Hare Krishna Temple
Today we will start our day further south of the city, where we will visit the beautiful Lotus TempleBuilt in the shape of its name, it belongs to the Bahá'í religion, founded in the 19th century in ancient Persia. Upon visiting, you'll be invited to remain silent for a moment. This is an interesting opportunity and experience in the midst of this large, bustling city. After visiting the temple, which is sometimes open, further along the exit (before turning right to the street gate), there are stairs leading to an exhibition on the history and work of this religion. It's interesting to take a look and experience brief expositions on its thoughts.
Near the Lotus Temple, we can visit the temple ISKCON. Very beautiful, it's a good opportunity to see how the Hare Krishna movement, which we've already seen in our countries, is practiced in India. Let's just be mindful of their midday closing times (open from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m., then from 16:15 p.m. to 21 p.m.).
We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
National museum
Returning to more central Delhi, a very interesting visit in Delhi is the National museum. It's possible to spend many hours or days appreciating each hall and exhibit on the history, arts, and people of India. A good way to take advantage of this opportunity is to visit a main hall and the relics of Buddha. Your backpack must be stored in a cloakroom before entering the museum building (small women's purses or clutches are usually allowed), and then, just before climbing the entrance stairs, be sure to take a look to your left at one of, if not the first, charter of human rights, carved in stone, according to the laws of the great Indian emperor of the 3rd century BC, Ashoka. Just after your entrance, one of the first halls is about Mohenjodaro and Harappa, the cradle of this Indian culture, between 3500 and 1500 BC. Right at the entrance to this hall, there's an interesting comparison of the eras of humanity's ancient civilizations. Next, we have objects from this period, the main ones being: the seal with what must have been Shiva (possibly in the form of Pashupati), the sculpture of the priest's head, and the dancing girl. From there, we walked (please be mindful of your time), without stopping too much, aiming to make the most of our day at the museum, through the other halls (there is an interesting digital exhibition on the Ajanta and Ellora caves further up, as well as a hall on the tribal regions of India and traditional instruments). (3) Now, in a new building on the way out of the museum, we have relics of the Buddha. A very special place to visit and, if you wish, to sit for a few moments. It is common to find practitioners of this Nepalese/Indian master's method (Sakya), sitting in meditation around his relics.
Gui Group
A very interesting visit in Delhi is the National museum. It is possible to spend many hours or days appreciating each hall and exhibits about the history, arts and people of India. A good way to take advantage of this opportunity is to visit the hall of Indo-Saravasti Culture and the relics of Buddha. In this hall we will learn a little about the cradle of Indian culture, with objects from 3500 and 1500 BC, such as the seal with what must have been Shiva (possibly in the form of Pashupati), the sculpture of the head of the priest and the dancing girl. In a new building, we have the relics of Buddha. A very special place to sit for a while and, if you want, do your practice.
We will check the city's cultural agenda for the days in Delhi, as a possibility of a special activity, where great artists from the country perform.

Today we will travel by car to Agra. On the way, closer to Agra, we will visit the city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. A student of the philosophy of the great religious traditions, he was the first Mughal emperor not to levy higher taxes on those who were not of his religion, such as having a Hindu general commanding his army. In addition to visiting its city, used for a very short period, we will also visit the Emperor's Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque) and the mausoleum of a Sufi saint, from the time of this empire. Late afternoon check-in at the hotel.
Tips on starting tomorrow:
– Suggestion to rest well that day, not finishing too late, and visit the Taj very early tomorrow. In addition to the possibility of beautiful light, it is also calmer than during the day. There may be a fog, which will almost always open at some point (and then return). But even if it doesn't open, quite rare, it's still quite beautiful. All Travellers to this day are grateful for going so early.
– To calculate the departure time from our hotel, we use two main pieces of information: the time the Taj gates open (it varies from month to month, so we will ask the guide and the hotel a few days in advance) and the sunrise time in Agra on that day (here). Are approx. 10-15 min drive from hotel to car park, then approx. 5min by electric cart to the gate where there can be a queue and we have to wait for them to open (we suggest arriving a little before opening time to avoid queues even if there is a specific queue for foreigners). Then, skip the queue, another 10-15 minutes for inspection and walk to the platform where you can see the Taj. – Leave food at the hotel, creams, travel knife, nail trim, practically everything except camera, cell phone for photos, temple kit and, depending on the time of year, a coat. Talk to your guide about what can and cannot be taken as it also varies greatly from season to season. – Confirming the time the breakfast ends with the hotel can also be of good help in calculating time to return from the tour tomorrow: from the Taj to the gate and then to the car.. 30-40min, plus 10-15min by car to the hotel.

After our breakfast, we will travel today on a new road to Agra (between 4 and 5 am). The time we leave Delhi will greatly influence the use of the afternoon in Agra. See the suggestions for today's end of the day below. Perhaps having breakfast at the beginning of the hotel's hours and then leaving is a good option.
If there is time, we will check in to our hotel or take advantage of our time to visit Agra Fort. This Red Fort in Agra, more beautiful and with more history than the one in Delhi. It was first used by Babur, the first Mughal emperor, in the 17th century. XVI, and built in its current form by Akbar. We will visit its gardens, public and private audience halls, mosque and quarters, including where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son and what Akbar built for his son, with symbols of all the main religious and philosophical traditions of the time.
We will check in, have lunch and then visit Agra Fort. This Red Fort of Agra is more beautiful and has more history than the one in Delhi. It was first used by Babur, the first Mughal emperor, in the 16th century, and built in its current form by Akbar. We will visit its gardens, the public and private audience halls, mosque and living quarters, including the one where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son and the one that Akbar built for his son, with symbols of all the major religious and philosophical traditions of the time.
We will have the opportunity to visit a workshop with artisans descended from them who worked at the Taj, so that we will learn about this art. We suggest that we sleep early for our next morning visit.
Traveling through a very remote region for approx. 5:XNUMX, we will continue to Agra, city known for one of the most famous and visited monuments: the Taj Mahal. Upon our arrival in the city, we will visit an earlier and smaller version of the Taj, known as the Baby Taj.
If, together with the guide, we take good care of the weather, we can visit the Baby Taj in a region a little further away from the city. A miniature version of the Taj. As well as being careful with the weather today, as well as the time of sunset, transits and a bit of luck with nature, there is the possibility of seeing the sun setting on the other side of the Yamuna River. , behind the Taj.
Calculation:
– I suggest arriving 40 min or a little before sunset (here) to enjoy and have more chances to see a beautiful light (which depends a lot on the weather, but it's still always worth it). We see the time it must take from where we are to the Baby Taj (here), bearing in mind that after the bridge we pass through the neighborhood market with narrow and sometimes congested streets. Visit that takes around 20 minutes (according to our pace). Baby Taj time as far as car can go near sunset location (here). A 10 or 15 min walk (there is an option for a paid garden with an entrance near the place where the cars stop and a place next to it without paying. Both have beautiful views in different ways). If you can help think about the timing so that it is smooth and as safe as possible for India, please let us know. He is well? We're pretty used to it.
Tips on starting tomorrow:
– A suggestion to rest well that day, not ending too late, to visit the Taj very early tomorrow. In addition to the possibility of beautiful light, it is also quieter than during the day. There may be a fog, which will almost always open at some point (and then come back). But even if it doesn't open, quite rare, it's still quite beautiful. All travellers to this day were grateful for having gone early.
– To calculate the departure time from our hotel, we use two main pieces of information: the time when the Taj gates are opening (it varies from month to month so we ask the guide and the hotel, bearing in mind that this time is always associated with sunrise) and sunrise time in Agra on that day (here).
Today we will wake up very early for our visit to the Taj Mahal (see suggestions above at the end of the day before). Built by Shah Jahan for his wife, Muntaz Mahal, in the 20th century. XVII, thousands of workers and architects from different regions of the world, for XNUMX years, used the famous white marble of India and precious stones. Early in the morning, in addition to the possibility of beautiful light, it is also quieter than during the day. Our local guide will tell you many stories about this monument. Return to the hotel for a good breakfast.
Perhaps there is a little time to visit a marble inlaid (pietra dura) stoneworking workshop, such as at the Taj, on the way to the airport. Please confirm that there will be time with your guide.
After breakfast, it's worth checking out, we'll visit Agra Fort.
Transfer with assistance to the airport for our flight to what is perhaps the oldest living city in the world to this day. The flight should descend in Khajuraho for a few minutes, to drop off and pick up some passengers, it is the only and best flight between Agra and Varanasi, and soon it will continue on its journey! Be careful not to descend and stay in Khajuraho if the flight makes this stop. Check with the flight attendants, please.
We will wake up very early to watch the sunrise at the Taj Mahal, built by the fourth great Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, for his great love Mumtaz Mahal. We will return to the hotel for breakfast, check-out, and then continue to visit the Agra Fort, 5th century. XVI, built mainly by his grandfather and greatest of all Mughal emperors, Akbar. Lunch and then we continued our journey for approx. XNUMXh back to Delhi.
After visiting Agra Fort, we continued our journey on a very good road back to Delhi (approx. 5 hours).

Then we will travel to the capital of the state of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
Today we will take a trip to the state capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
On the way we will visit the city of Fatehpur Sikri, built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar.
We will arrive in the capital of the state of Rajasthan at the end of the day.
Tip about starting the tour tomorrow: it's possible to climb up to the fort with the help of an elephant. A few years ago, they began limiting the number of climbs per elephant, a great measure to avoid overloading and stressing the animals. Therefore, there are a limited number of elephants and climbs for each of them (if you want to talk about the work of Wildlife SOS, link here, please let us know). Talk to your guide at the end of the day to ensure you leave the hotel at a time that will allow you to arrive at the front of the line at a time that will guarantee the maximum possible elephant presence, if you prefer to climb the hill.
We'll start our day early to climb up to Fort Amber, with the possibility of an elephant's help on this climb. See note at the end of the previous day on the number of elephants, please. We will walk through the halls, gardens, chambers and secret passages, with views of the region of the palace of the rajput and general of Akbar's army, Man Sing. In the same village of Amber, near Jaipur, we have the option of visiting a museum about the 'block printing' painting technique, set up by the Anokhi store.
On the way back to the pink city, as ancient Jaipur is known, we will stop on the shores of a lake where there is a palace on an island, called Jal Mahal. A restaurant suggestion, quite old and traditional, very funny actually, where we ate approx. 20 years is the LMB. In the old part of the city, everyone knows it. One of the good options is the Veg Thali, a combination of several Indian foods (rice, lentils, vegetables, yogurt, see if a butter nan or plain nan is already available if you don't order it, it's delicious). Ask not to come spicy but it should come a little or a little. So a sweet or banana lassi to go with it can be great!
After a good lunch, we will walk through the old city. We will visit the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds, built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799, so that women could see the movement of the streets without being seen. We will also visit the City Palace Museum and Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory also from the XNUMXth century. XVIII, now protected by Unesco, constituted by great instruments of incredible precision until the present day.
Tip on tomorrow's start: the sooner we leave, the more time we have for Red Fort in Agra. Possibility to have an early breakfast. Arrange with your driver, please! If we can help, we are always available, please call us to think and organize together.
Free day to explore Jaipur. We had very good feedback from an Ayurvedic massage clinic if you are interested, okay? There are also cooking classes. There is a restaurant with Rajasthani dancing at dinner (booking required). It has a large hotel, formerly a palace, which, if they are receiving people who are not staying with them, has a very good dinner too.

Boudhnath
PBH KTM
Time to leave this sacred kingdom and return to our beloved and chaotic Nepal, in our quiet Tibetan neighborhood. Transfer to the airport early in the morning for another beautiful flight literally next to the Himalayas back to Kathmandu. After checking in at our hotel, always requested and very welcome, today will be dedicated to assimilating everything we have experienced in these two special countries and cultures. Already quite familiar with our Tibetan neighborhood around the great stupa of Boudhnath, as well as with several places in the city and valley, we can enjoy revisiting some of its many important monasteries, cafes, restaurants, museums and 'little shops'. We can contemplate these important places, read a book, write, walk, take photos, take care of the souvenirs we want to take home for ourselves and for friends and family. At the end of the day we will meet for our farewell dinner.

Transfer to the airport, perhaps very early in the morning, for another beautiful flight literally next to the Himalayas, back to Kathmandu. Flight times from Bhutan change a lot, as do the weather conditions in the highest mountains on our planet. So, if we have time to take an afternoon tour of Kathmandu, we have that option. If we fly a little later, after checking in at our hotel, always requested and very welcome, the end of today will be dedicated to assimilating everything we have experienced in these two special countries and cultures.

Nota
We intentionally made some visits different from what we normally do, as well as spending one or two days shorter in Nepal. We certainly saw the most important points of Kathmandu, which were also quite special. Even so, if you can and are interested, we recommend staying for one, two or three more days in Kathmandu, during which you can: (1) visit Durbar Square in a neighboring city called Bhaktapur, (2) have a little more free time in Kathmandu, as well as, for those interested, (3) visit other areas of the valley, whether those of greatest interest to Buddhist practitioners, such as Pharphing and Namo Buddha, or those who want to stay in the mountains (options: Namo Buddha, Nagarkot, Dhulikhel), and so on. There are many possibilities in these regions (see here). The point is to see if it is the best time or in a next coming!

We thought about that day and organized it as follows:
Briefing
Swayambunath
Kathmandu Durbar Square
Thamel
Boudhnath
After a well-deserved rest from the trip to Nepal, breakfast to start our day in the Kathmandu Valley!
We will begin our visits with a short walk in the region of the second largest stupa in the valley, Swayambunath (translation: self-arising). Legend has it that the hill where the stupa stands arose from the spot where the bodhisattva Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom, picked a lotus flower after emptying the lake in what is now the Kathmandu Valley. Weather permitting, we will have a view of the entire city. We will make our koras around the stupa and visit its small monasteries.

Before Bhutan
From Swayambu we will continue to Durbar Square, (Palace Square) in Kathmandu where a small living goddess, the Kumari, lives. The durbar squares of the Kathmandu Valley were built by kings who were heirs of the Malla dynasty, from the 12th to the 18th centuries, which, in this case, were fortunate enough to compete in architectural beauty. There are numerous temples of various Hindu gods around the palace. We will then walk to the travellers' quarter in Kathmandu, Thamel, with numerous good restaurants, mountaineering shops, Nepalese crafts, bookstores, for a good meal and, if anyone needs it, to buy some clothes for the days in Bhutan.

Pashupatinath Trek
From our hotel we will take a walk to the temple complex of Pashupatinath, which surrounds the Bagmati River, sacred to Hindus. In addition to the main temple, dedicated to the most tranquil manifestation of Shiva, Pashupati, there are dozens of smaller temples also dedicated to the Hindu god of destruction and reconstruction. It is also the place where Nepalese who are able will be cremated to ensure a good passage or liberation (moksha).
Bhaktapur
Today we will visit one of the three main ancient cities in the valley, Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion and pur: Hindu city). Along with Patan and Kathmandu, which we will visit in the next few days, they were once capitals of the Malla empire that competed in architectural beauty with the beautiful squares of their palaces. Bhaktapur is a listed city, with limited traffic flow. Walking through its alleys is like getting to know a little bit of everyday life in medieval Nepal.
We will visit the third Durbar Square in the valley, the beautiful Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion/devotees and pur: Hindu city). A listed city with limited traffic flow, strolling through its narrow streets, palace, temples, and the Potters' Square is like experiencing a glimpse into everyday life in medieval Nepal. Bhaktapur is the location where the film Little Buddha was filmed.
Namo Buddha simple arrival in the afternoon
After our walk and lunch, we will head to a quieter area of the valley, Namo Buddha.
Namo Buddha walk after breakfast
In a previous life, Buddha Shakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, met a hungry tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Buddha, because of his level of realization, offered his own body where there is now a monastery of Thrangu Rinpoche, in Namo Buddha. After breakfast, we will take a leisurely walk to the monastery and then to the stupa where Buddha's brothers in that life kept his relics. Today we will visit another quieter region around the Kathmandu Valley, Dhulikhel and Namo BuddhaIn a previous life, Buddha Shakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, encountered a starving tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Because of his level of attainment, Buddha offered his own body where Thrangu Rinpoche's monastery now stands. We'll visit the monastery and then take a short, pleasant walk to the stupa where Buddha's brothers, in that life, kept his relics. We'll arrive at our hotel, where we'll have a very peaceful end to the day with a beautiful view. If the weather is clear, we'll be able to see the snow-capped Himalayas from the hotel restaurant at sunset and sunrise.

Return Kathmandu > Bhaktapur
On the way to our Tibetan neighborhood in the Kathmandu Valley, we will visit the third of the valley's main ancient cities, Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion and pur: Hindu city). Bhaktapur is a listed city, with limited vehicle flow, where, for example, the film Little Buddha was filmed. Walking through its alleys is like getting to know a little about the daily life of medieval times in Nepal.
Return Kathmandu > Bhaktapur > End of day free
After our peaceful night in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley, we will continue our journey to our Tibetan neighborhood and hotel in Kathmandu. On the way, we have the option of visiting the third Durbar Square in the valley, the beautiful Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion/devotees and pur: Hindu city). The place where the film Little Buddha was filmed, for example. We will walk through its medieval streets, among temples and old houses, including the potters' square. At the end of the day, we will have free time to enjoy our Boudhnath neighborhood and return to Thamel, as each traveller prefers. Later, we will celebrate our days and experiences together in these incredible cultures and landscapes with a pleasant dinner.
Boudha Return
After checking in back at our hotel, always requested and very welcome, today will be dedicated to assimilating everything we experienced in these two special countries and cultures. Already very familiar with the Tibetan neighborhood around the great stupa of Boudhnath, as well as with several places in the city and the valley, we can enjoy revisiting some of its numerous important monasteries, cafes, restaurants, museums and 'little shops'. We can contemplate these important places, read a book, write, walk, photograph, take care of the memories if we take them for ourselves as well as for friends and family.
Return via Pashupatinath
On the way back to the city of Kathmandu, we will visit the Pashupatinath temple complex, which is located around the Bagmati River, sacred to Hindus. In addition to the main temple, dedicated to the most peaceful manifestation of Shiva, Pashupati, there are dozens of small temples also dedicated to the Hindu god of destruction and reconstruction. It is also the place where Nepalis who are able will be cremated to ensure a good passage or release (moksha). We have some options for this afternoon. We can use it to go to Thamel, if anyone still needs some more clothes or equipment for our days in Bhutan. We can also take advantage of our Tibetan neighborhood, doing our circumambulations, walking through the monasteries, doing our meditation practice, taking advantage of one of the cafes and the stupa to write, read or photograph some more. We also have the option of visiting another square in the palace, Kathmandu's Durbar Square, where a small living goddess, Kumari, lives.
Return via Changunarayan
In the morning we will visit the oldest temple in Kathmandu, called Changu Narayan. This is another opportunity to walk through the mountains and ethnic villages of Nepal. We set aside this afternoon to explore some of the places already visited, to return to Thamel if you need any more equipment or clothes for the trip to Bhutan, and to take advantage of its bookstores, Nepalese crafts stores and cafes.
Return Kathmandu > Bhutan
Back in our Tibetan neighborhood, we will prepare for our very beautiful flight to Bhutan tomorrow.
Visit Namo Buddha > Dhulikhel night
Today we will visit another quieter region of the Kathmandu Valley. First we will travel for approximately 2 hours to the mountains surrounding the valley, Namo Buddha. In a previous life, Buddha Sakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, encountered a hungry tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Buddha, because of his level of realization, offered his own body where there is now a monastery of Thrangu Rinpoche. Just below, after a pleasant walk, there is a stupa where Buddha's brothers, in that life, kept his relics. We will go down the mountain for a few minutes to our hotel in Namo Buddha or Dhulikhel. Arriving at our hotel, we will have a very peaceful end to the day with a beautiful view. If the weather is clear, we will be able to see the snow-capped Himalayan mountains at sunset and sunrise from the hotel restaurant and from our beds in our rooms.
Lhasa > Dhulikhel
In the morning, return to Lhasa airport for another incredible flight that will cross the highest mountain range in the world. In good weather, it is possible to see six of the only fourteen mountains in the world that are more than eight thousand meters high. Back in Nepal we will go to our hotel in a very quiet region of the valley, Dhulikhel, close to another important Buddhist site, Namo Buddha. In a previous life, Buddha Shakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, encountered a hungry tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Buddha, due to his level of achievement, offered his own body where there is today a Thrangu Rinpoche monastery. Just below, after a pleasant walk, there is a stupa where the Buddha's brothers, in that life, kept his relics. We will have completed the visit to the three most sacred stupas in the Kathmandu Valley and it will be an important opportunity, at the stupa itself or back at our hotel, to sit, read, write, photograph, walk or take the opportunity to do a brief meditation practice now. almost at the end of our trip. From our rooms and our hotel's restaurant, in good weather, we will have a view of the snow-capped Himalayas, the region we have been traveling through in recent weeks.

In good weather, it is possible to see six of the only fourteen mountains in the world that are over eight thousand meters high. Back in Nepal, we will head to our hotel in a very quiet part of the valley, close to another important Buddhist site, Namo Buddha. In a previous life, Buddha Sakyamuni, when he was still a bodhisattva, encountered a hungry tigress with nothing to feed her cubs. Buddha, because of his level of realization, offered his own body where there is today a Thrangu Rinpoche monastery. Changunarayan
On the way we can also visit the oldest temple in the entire valley, Changunarayan. We usually go by car. If by chance someone prefers to go for a walk, we have that possibility.
Nagarkot
Arriving in Nagarkot, a village that is quieter than the cities in the valley, with the weather permitting we will have beautiful views of the snow-capped Himalaya mountains. In addition to a pleasant moment to enjoy the peace of nature, sunset and sunrise, there will be possibilities for good walks in the region.
Nagarkot with trek
Today we head to a village in the mountains surrounding the valley, Nagarkot. In this quieter region, with more nature, we can take a walk through one of the villages of one of the many ethnic groups in Nepal, to experience a little of this rhythm of life where children take care of animals, men and women weave, adults take care of houses and plantations, some houses still built with traditional materials and format, with the animals on the first floor and the house above. Weather permitting, we will have views of the highest and snowiest mountains in the Himalayas, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
We will now head to a village in the mountains (approx. 2200m) surrounding the Kathmandu Valley (average 1400m). With all the history, ethnicities and traditions in the cities in the valley, going to a quieter place is an opportunity to experience a little of the rhythm of life in most of Nepal: with its valleys, terraces and mountains. If you're feeling up to it, you can take a walk around the region, and the peaceful stay in itself, in this context in the Himalayas, with the weather allowing views of the highest mountains in the world, is in itself a very special experience.
We will now continue for approx. 1h there is another village in the mountains around the valley, Nagarkot, where we can experience a bit of the calmest Nepal of the villages in its beautiful mountains and valleys. It is also a very inviting place to do our meditation practice, individually or together, like going for a walk, as each traveller prefers. Weather permitting, we will have views of the highest and snowiest mountains in the Himalayas, with beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
Depending on our rhythm that day, we can rest, enjoy the region and visit Namo Buddha the next morning.
Lhasa > Nagarkot
Time for us to depart this sacred kingdom and return to our dear, messy Nepal. Transfer to the airport early in the morning for another beautiful flight literally alongside the Himalayas back to Kathmandu.
Instead of returning to the big city, from the airport we will first head to the third of the main ancient cities in the valley, Bhaktapur (bhakt: devotion and pur: Hindu city). Bhaktapur is a listed city, with limited traffic flow. Walking through its narrow streets is like getting to know a little bit of everyday life in medieval Nepal.

Going to the airport could have been the night before, as explained above, this morning or today, depending on your preference. Very good flights! See you soon!
Regarding times and days, flights normally leave Guarulhos SP (GRU) early in the morning, around 1 or 2am that night. Therefore, anyone traveling to São Paulo from other states must make their domestic flight the day before. And anyone going to GRU by car must go to the airport the night before. Guilherme will certainly contact you before you go to the airport and will be available when you arrive at the airport to see if you need any help, making sure you are arriving with complete peace of mind. Have a great flight and see you soon!
If your flight is today, have a great flight!
